About Palatine Park District Projects
In an effort to keep our parks and facilities accessible and safe for all residents, and to accommodate the needs of the community, various construction projects are necessary from time to time. Below are the construction projects recently completed or currently underway.
Cedar Park Playground
Last Update: August 1, 2024
Kids Around the World is scheduled to remove the playground in early September.
The playground equipment delivery is expected in mid-September.
Celtic Park – Artificial Turf Replacement
Last Update: August 1, 2024
Project started on Friday July 12th.
All turf covering has been removed.
The Contractor will start fine grading the subbase before installing the new turf.
Meadowlark Renovation Plans

Phase One plans for Meadowlark Park
Palatine Park District Staff is scheduling time with the contractor to begin work on-site.
Palatine Trail Update

Palatine Trail along Illinois Avenue was successfully updated.
Eagle Park Playground
Last Update: February 8, 2024 –
Eagle Park Playground has been completely renovated and is open for play! Special thanks to Kids Around The World for their removal and recycling of the previous playground.
Birchwood Recreation Center Elevator
Last Update: January 3, 2024 –
Birchwood Recreation Center Elevator project has concluded. Operations have resumed as normal.
Hamilton North Parking Lot
Last Update: April 23, 2024 –
Hamilton North Parking Lot has been completed.
Community Center Gym Floor
Last Update: January 3, 2024 –
Community Center Gym Floor has completely resurfaced, repainted, and refinished. It now features basketball courts, volleyball courts, and pickleball courts. New bleachers and gym divider has been added as well.
Osage Park Playground
Last Update: January 3, 2024 –
Osage Park Playground has been completely renovated and is open for play! Special thanks to Kids Around The World for their removal and recycling of the previous playground.
Palatine Trail Repaving
Last Update: January 3, 2024 –
Palatine Trail Repaving along Dundee Rd and near Dutch Schultz Park has concluded. Trail is open!
Sycamore Park Tennis Courts
Last Update: May 18, 2024 –
Sycamore Park tennis courts have been painted and are available for use.
